Guernica!

You've got to go check out Guernica! a short movie by Marcelo R. Ortiz. It's a marvelous composition that merges Picasso, Escher, Dali and Van Gogh into a surprising sequence of events.

I agree, there is definitely an unsettling feeling about the animation. I think it's because we are pulled completely out of our reality and are forced to experience what it would be like to be trapped in a foreign environment. To an extent this discomfort is a credit to the artist, who is talented enough to inject this emotion into the film, and into us. I like the Escher building too, I've considering trying to work some of Escher's designs into 3D, but this would be a tricky endeavor. Since we know his pieces are an illusion, and can be only fully represented from certain viewpoints, there would have to be a lot of thought into where to hide the glitches and/or how much could we get away with showing......it's interesting to think about. Do you have some art up online uzik? Gina
