The Gift

I just finished working on this animation today. I had to call and get my Mom's reaction, I was so glad I did. It touched her, and that was a gift, it touched me too to make this animation, another gift. And so I pass it on to you in hopes that it gives to you as well. Click here to watch the movie.

Yes jungle dream pagoda, that is my sister Julie and I (yes that was my real hair color). We are both wearing, well, what we would be wearing, and the mood and the elements were all inspired by her. And, the yellow rose, was her favorite flower.

Oh Gina, how lovely. I am so sorry you have lost your sister what a wonderful tribute to her. As soon as I saw a yellow rose I knew this would be moving. What ever I write will not say enough.

Your emotions shine through so vividly. I am sure your sister would tell you that she loves it! I can't imagine the feelings that you must have felt while making it. You have really outdone yourself in this beautiful piece!

Thank you so much Katie, your words are so special to me and yes it really was quite a cathartic experience for me. As I worked on it, I felt I was in a state of highly tuned realization and remembrance, it was bittersweet. When I was finished with my final render and I watched it for the first time in it's completion, I felt a rush of emotion, it sort of rose to the top and came pouring out. And finally, after multiple viewings it was, yes, yes, I have given her back something, she is eternal, I have passed the gift along, and this gave me a feeling of confirmation, completion and peace.
